Sales Summary - Updated Regularly

Recorded auction sales of Simmental bulls and females and Simbrah bulls during 2004 demonstrated their increasing popularity and demand to boost herd productivity.

Despite serious drought conditions over a wide area of eastern Australia, the rising popularity of Simmentals resulted in good sales results throughout.

2004 Sales   

At the 27 auction sales held to date in 2004,  

 *  506 Simmental bulls sold to a top price of  $12,200 and an average of $3,586.

 *  85 Simmental females sold to a top price of  $7,000 and an average of $2,535.

 *  59 Simbrah bulls sold to a top price of  $6,750 and an average of $3,991.

The clearance at auction in 2004 has been a high 80%.

Top price honours for Bull Sales in 2004 has been 
    $12,200 for the polled bull, Willandra Xaminer (P) (AJYPX056)
sold at the Cowcher family's Willandra Simmental stud, Williams, WA, On Property Annual Bull Sale in March. He boasted impressive Breedplan EBVs, with a Self Replacing Supermarket Index of +$24 (breed average is +$9)

The sales results, outlined below, demonstrate continuing growth in demand for Simmental breeding stock over recent years. Higher clearances and higher average prices at auction, have been repeated in many private on-farm sales.
