Junior member success at Dubbo Beef Spectacular

The Dubbo Beef Spectacular held from the 17th to the 19th March 2009 included a program for Juniors.  The Junior Heifer Show attracted many entries from individuals and schools from across the State in four age groups. The Junior Heifer Show required participants to engage in Paraders, Judging, the Interbreed Heifer Show and Herdsman activities.

The Simmentals were represented by Miss Jessica Impey from Lucky Clover Simmentals and Jessica showed Illawong Farm Melody, a heifer owned by Jennifer and Jessica’s Lucky Clover Simmental stud.

Over the three days Jessica participated in all aspects of the Heifer Show.

Tuesday morning was Junior Paraders. Unfortunately Jessica was unplaced in a strong field of 25. Tuesday afternoon was Junior Judging where Jessica was called up as one of four finalists and was awarded Reserve Junior Judge – Junior. Wednesday night was the Interbreed Heifer Show where Jessica was unplaced in the strong field of heifers aged 6 months to under 12 months.

Jessica’s hard work and perseverance over the 3 days was rewarded when she was presented with an encouragement award for the Herdsman competition.
