THE success of the Schmid family’s Tullatoola operation was very well received.
The Molong, NSW, based stud left its stamp on the Simmental ring with a rising two-year-old bull bred by the now-dispersed Goonoo Creek stud.
Goonoo Creek Bob Cat – one of two bulls bought by Tullatoola at the Goonoo Creek finale sale last May for $4000 each – is fast earning his stripes in the show ring.
He was the reserve senior Simmental bull at the Sydney Royal in March and didn’t take long to catch the eye of judge Peter Cook – a Simmental breeder himself – at Bendigo.
Bob Cat will now be put to work at Tullatoola as it works to build its Simmental numbers.
Meanwhile a cow with plenty of length and depth made the trip from Mt Gambier in South Australia worthwhile for the Muller family, earning them the sash for grand champion female.

The Supreme exhibit Goonoo Creek Bob Cat was purchased by Tullatoola Simmentals at the Goonoo Creek Dispersal sale last May. He was also the Reserve Senior Simmental bull at the Sydney Royal in March.
