Eastern Victoria Regional Members - Lardner Park Field Days Display 2008

Once again, some of the Victorian Eastern Region Simmental members have taken time out to exhibit a Simmental display at the yearly Lardner Park Field Days(3rd,4th,5th,6th April 2008)

Over the four day event a “sausage sizzle” is arranged by various members, friends and family. This helps pay for the some of the fee’s associated with the site but also attracts people to the Simmental display.

This year there was keen interest in the Simmental cattle and breed. Members Barbara Sutton and Garry Clarke (Reagent Park Simmentals) had two younger bulls on display with also Peter and Chris Wenn (Pinaroo Hills Simmental Stud) having a heifer in calf and 11month old bull on display. The display attracted eager interest in younger bulls with Barbara selling one of her bulls, and also people interested in her other bull.  Peter and Chris Wenn also had enquiries regarding their cattle with one party interested in making time to drop into there locally based property.

During the four day event a special “Structural Assessment” was held by Mr Iain Moreland, from Stud Care Genetics. Iain spoke on the structural assessment of cattle and artificial breeding of beef cattle. Mr Moreland is accredited by the “Performance Beef Breeders Association” and his practical assessment showed keen interest from other beef breeders and enthusiasts.

Personally I would like to thank the following people for helping out during the four days and the timeless effort they put in promoting the Simmental Breed and setting up the display.

Special Thanks To:
