Gowrie Simmental/Simbrah Bull Sale Tops $10,000 |
|
Noel and Jill Mobbs, Gowrie Station, Charleville staged their 8th Annual Gowrie Simmental & Simbrah Bull Sale on September 28. The sale was again a resounding success, despite shaky seasonal conditions in much of Queensland. There was a 100% clearance of the 76 bulls offered and an overall sale average of $3,995. 61 Simbrah bulls sold to a top of 10,000 for Lot 6, Gowrie B146, purchased by repeat buyer, Peter Emery, Lockerbie Farms, Roma. Peter also bought Lot 40, Gowrie B174 (P) for $5,000. Mac Allan and Sons, "Erne", Blackall, who have been using Gowrie bulls for over 13 years, returned to buy 10 bulls. Buyers were impressed with the consistent high quality of the Gowrie bulls on offer, the result of years of breeding using top Simmental and Brahman bloodlines coupled with a strict selection policy based on functionality. Noel Mobbs commented that while seasonal conditions had resulted in a lower average price this year, he was pleased to see a 100% clearance, with bulls selling to both new and repeat buyers.
