Wandoan Simmental/Simbrah Sale Tops $9,000

A market buoyed by improved seasonal conditions and renewed interest in Simmental genetics was encountered at the Wandoan Simmental and Simbrah sale. 

Ten vendors sold 62 bulls (86% clearance) for a $3,847 average, topping at $9,000.

The top priced bull Lucrana A057, the Moore Family, Lucrana Simmentals, offered a heavily muscled 22 ½ month youngster weighing in at 950kgs and sired by Barana Shakespeare.  Fellow vendors Trevor and Jenny York, Hyde Park Simmentals Wallumbilla purchased him.  The York family also out laid $8000 for another Shakespeare son, Lucrana Lawson boasting an EMA of 140cm2.  The Moore's sold 12 Simmentals for the leading average of $4,792 and the top priced Simbrah at $3,500.

Largest vendors, the York’s, Hyde Park sold 14 for an average of $4036 and a top of $8000.

Wayne, Scott and Luke York of Billa Park Simmentals were also pleased with their sale. Selling 10 bulls for a $4,200 average topping at $6,000 twice. Long time breed supporters, John and Jan Burnett, Bendemeer, Clermont, purchased both $6,000 Billa Park bulls. The Burnett’s secured 10 bulls for a $4,400 average.

Bevan Johnson, Bareen Simmentals, achieved a 100% clearance for his 10, averaging $3,050.
