Registered Purebred Simmental Bulls Average $5,625 at Hills of Gold Bull Sale |

The Hills of Gold Simmental Bull Sale, held at Wombramurra, Nundle on August 15, attracting a large crowd and achieved a very solid sale result, with a top price of $9,000 and an overall average of $3,702. Bulls were offered by Peter & Judy Howarth's Wombramurra stud, Nundle, Rory and Patricia Murphy's Monreid Simmental stud, Nundle and Derek and Shelly Piper's Piper Simmental stud, Coolah. The Sale featured Purebred Simmentals and Black Simmentals as well as a range of Simmental infused bulls. The Sale was opened by Tony Thompson, Glen Anthony Simmentals, New Zealand, who has had great Show success with the $25,000 Monreid Yardstick he purchased several years ago. John McNeil, Windradeen Pastoral, Wantabadgery, bought 3 bulls to $4,500 and an average $3,500. The Registered Purebred Black Simmentals offered by Wombramurra, resulting from imported embryos, attracted strong interest, with all 8 selling for an average $5,625. Brad Croaker, Goulburn, selected 2 Black Simmental bulls at $7,250 and $6,000. Powerhouse Pastoral, Nundle, selected one for $6,000, Homesworth Pasrtoral, Tamworth snapped one up for $5,500. Robert Lebereaux, Yarrowitch, bought 2 for $6,500 and $4,750. Collie Creek, Willow Tree bought one for $5,500. Russell Parker, Holbrook selected one for $5,000, Greg Upton, Niangala, also selected one for $5,000. Other Simmental infused bulls also sold well, with 17 Black Composites offered by Wombramurra selling to $5,250 to average $3,406 and 8 Red Composites selling to $4,750 to average $2,719.
