Simmentals mounted a strong display at Royal Queensland Show at the Ekka in August. Judge, Mr Noel Mobbs, Gowrie Station, Charleville, Qld was impressed with the overall standard of entries. He selected as his Grand Champion bull, Clay Gully Agrow, the Senior Champion exhibited by Rob & Viv Laycock, Clay Gully Simmentals, Esk. They also gained Reserve Senior Champion with Clay Gully Abdul. Winning Grand Champion and Senior Champion Female was Yarrayne Zillah, exhibited by Robbie Shaw, Yarrayne stud, Esk. Robbie also gained Junior Champion Bull with Yarrayne Beckham. KBV Simmentals, had a successful day, exhibiting the Junior Champion Female, Woonallee Lady Suzi B53 and Reserve Junior Champion Bull, Brewers Xavier B959 Gary & Jqacqui Rahley, Aussie Park stud, Clifton, were also delighted with their successes, gaining Reserve Junior Champion Female with Woonallee Heidi B9, and Reserve Senior Champion Female with Aussie Park Charm. James Croft, Elders Rockhampton presents the Shield of Excellence to Clay Gully Agrow, Grand Champion Bull, led by Sharon Lyne, Beenleigh and sashed by Jill Mobbs, Gowrie Simmentals and Simbrahs, Charleville and congratulated by judge, Noel Mobbs Yarrayne Zillah, Grand Champion Female, is congratulated by judge, Noel Mobbs, while James Croft, Elders Rockhampton presents the Shield of Excellence to owner Robbie Shaw, Yarrayne stud, Esk. Zillah is led by Joidie Teske and Zillah's calf is led by Scott Dull, Toogoolawah.
