Goonoo Creek Simmentals Sell to $12,500 in strong sale

A large crowd attended the dispersal sale of Graham and Sandra Jordan's Goonoo Creek Simmental Stud herd on May 23.

Recognising the depth of quality throughout the herd, developed through 19 years of the Tamworth, NSW stud's operation, buyers bid with strength and confidence for the 52 animal lots and 9 semen and 6 embryo packages.

The results were a fitting reward for the stud which has enjoyed years of showing success, including the major broad ribbons in Sydney Royal this year and the coveted Most Successful Exhibitor award.

Bulls sold to 11,000 with 12 averaging $4,583.

22 Cows sold to $7,500 to average $4,000.

14 Joined Heifers sold to $12,500 to average $6,750

3 Unjoined Heifers sold to $3,500 to average $3,000.

Overall, the sale grossed $256,480

 

Langton Gate Autumn Girl, Supreme Champion Simmental at 2007 Sydney Royal Show, sold for $7,000 to Woonallee and Bullock Hills Simmental studs.

$11,000 Lot 52, Goonoo Creek Awesome (P), purchased by Paul Farrant, Grafton, NSW.

$10,000 Lot 51, Goonoo Creek Applause, purchased by J & N Hopkins' Wormbete Simmentals, Junee, NSW.

$10,000 Lot 5, Goonoo Creek Anna, purchased by Wade Jordan's Yarramore Simmentals, Tamworth, NSW.

Volume Buyers included:

There were cattle available to suit all buyers, with 35 buyers snapping up the 65 lots.

Some were purchased by existing stud herds seeking new and proven genetics. Others were purchased by buyers starting new stud herds. Yet others were purchased by new and repeat commercial herd buyers who knew the value of the Goonoo Creek Simmentals.
