Young People Benefit from Simmental Education Day

The inaugural Young People's Simmental Education Day on April 30, held in conjunction with the 2007 Southern Simmental Sale proved highly successful.  

Junior Members and 40 young people from Billabong High School and St Paul's High School participated in the event.

Ancare provided sponsorship support and Area Manager, Mark nBeard presented an interesting talk on cattle health management.

Kerrie Sutherland presented demonstrations on Stock Handling and Cattle Judging.

Jim Green presented an informative Structural Assessment demonstration.

All young participants undertook a Judging Competition with the finalists giving anoral presentation of their selections.

Winners and placegetters received sashes and the Encouragement Award was presented to Jennifer Impey.

All participants received a Simmental Information Kit for future reference.

The Organising Committee, led by the Association's NSW President, Peter Liddy, was very pleased with the success of the event and plans to expand on the program next year.
