New Zealand Simmentals Perform at Beef Expo

The 2006 NZ Beef Expo, at Palmerston North in May, was another great multi breed success.

The Simmental section judging was undertaken by Tom Baker, Woonallee, Furner, SA, Australia, who was impressed with the overall standard of both led and unled trial bulls.

He selected as his Supreme Champion, the unled bull, Hampton Downs Prada AP24, exhibited by Malcolm and Ngaire Entwisle, Hampton Downs Simmentals, Te Kauwhata, NZ. He later sold for $9,000.

The Champion led bull was Wai-iti Pickalo AP165, by Wai-Iti Masterton AM60, exhibited by Peter and Sue McWilliam's Wai-Iti Simmentals, Gladstone, Masterton. He later sold for $8,000.
