National Simmental Sale Tops $6,500

The 2006 National Simmental Sale, held at Wodonga on May 2, resulted in top prices of $6,500 for bulls and $4,500 for females.

Despite the extremely dry conditions, 17 bulls sold at auction for a $2,853 average, with most passed in bulls selling after the sale.

3 of the 4 females offered sold for an average $3,417.

The Sale followed a parade of Sale lots, with an interesting commentary by Mel Ryan, Glenview Del Simmentals, Glenburn, Vic.

A new innovation was a Buyers Choice Award, awarded to the bull scored most highly by buyers and vendors pre-sale.
