Inaugural
Pert Black Simmental Sale |
|
Martin Grimwade’s inaugural Pert Black Simmental sale proved an outstanding success, with 10 bulls selling to a top of $8,000 and a $5,325 average. The sale was conducted on farm at Broadford, Victoria in April in conjunction with the Grimwade’s Pert Angus bulls sale. PC Nixon & Co., Orbost, purchased the $8,000 top priced Black Simmental bull, a son of GW Lucky Strike 147G and boasting a massive Eye Muscle Area EBV of +6.1, in the top 1% of the breed. David Malone, Bega, NSW, purchased three bulls to a top of $6,000. Shannon Vale Station, Glen Innes, NSW, bought a bull for $6,500. HJ & DA McDonald, Drouin West, Vic, also snapped up a bull for $6,500. JR & HA Adams, Rosedale, Vic, selected one for $6,250. Vendor, Martin Grimwade was delighted with the result, and is already planning the next Pert Black Simmental Sale in late spring.
