Quality Simmental Display at Canberra Show

A small but good quality lineup of Simmentals were presented at Canberra Royal Show in late February.

The Judge, Chris Knox, Coonabarabran, NSW, was impressed with the quality of the Simmental entries, stating that these types of Simmental would place highly in any show and were the type that are in increasing demand in today’s beef industry.

He selected as his Supreme exhibit, the Grand and Senior Champion female, Milton View Dasey, a three year old with calf at foot exhibited by Warren Salway, Wandellapark Simmental stud, Cobargo, NSW. Daisey was sired by Great Guns Ferdinand out of Milton View Dinah.

Warren Salway also gained Grand and Senior Champion Bull with 20 month old Wandellapark Zuse, by Boolaroo Wogo out of Boolaroo 0424.

Clinton Leahy, Charltonpark Simmentals, Cobargo, won Junior Champion Female with Charltonpark Rosette by Charltonpark Energiser out of Milton Park Roselyn.

Carl Baldry, Baldry Park Simmentals, Illabo, gained Reserve Junior Champion Female with Baldry Park Zara, by Morning Wonderboy out of Tennysonvale Victoria.
