Simmental bulls sold to a top price of $7,750 at the annual European Bull Sale, Naracoorte, South Australia in March.

20 Simmentals averaged $3,200 selling to buyers in South Australia and Western Victoria.

The Maglieri family’s Nawarra Simmental stud, McLaren Vale, SA, sold the $7,750 top priced bull, Skillogalee Zulu and the $3,500 Skillogalee Zack to LS Johnston & Son, Naracoorte,SA who purchased a total of 4 bulls at auction and another post sale. Brian Johnston and his family have been successfully breeding with Simmentals for many years, regularly achieving near top prices at the annual weaner sales.

Shirley Barker, Bokara Simmentals, Mt Barker, sold Bokara Zenith for $6,000 to B. Smith, Millicent. Shirley sold 3 other bulls for $4,000 and $2,500 (2).

The Withers family, Nalpa Simmentals, Strathalbyn, sold Nalpa Zamir for $3,500 to R. Meal Pty Ltd, Tintinara for $3,500 and the polled Nalpa Zillmann for $3,500. They also sold Nalpa Zumwald for $3,000 to long time users of  Simmentals, N & N Kerr, Heywood, Vic, who also purchased Morton Zest for $3,000 from John & Chris Morton’s Mortin Simmentals, Lucindale.

The Withers family sold 3 other bulls for $2,500 each.

Richard White, Auscan Stud, Adelaide, sold Auscan Zabarra to the Kerr’s,Heywood for $3,500.

Grantley & Vicki Muller, Rellum Farms Simmentals, Mt Gambier, sold a polled bull, Rellum Farms Zorba for $3,250.

Andrew Ness, Seddon Simmentals, Kangaroo Island, sold 4 bulls for $2,500 each

Ben Crawford, Crawfield Simmentals, Georgetown sold Crawfield Zac for $2,500 to Ls Johnston & Sons.
