Victorian Simmental Spring Sale Tops $5,750 Twice |

An outstanding quality selection of Simmental females and bulls were presented at the second Victorian Spring Simmental Sale at Whittlesea on November 12. The
sale, conducted by the Victorian Branch and the Northern Region Group
of Simmental Australia saw a top price of $5,750 paid for a cow and
calf and again for a 16 month old bull. In
total, 16 females sold for an average $2,591 and 4 bulls sold for an
average $3,213. 4 embryos sold for $150 each. Noel
and Jill Mobbs, Gowrie Simmentals and Simbrahs, Gowrie Station,
Charleville, Qld, secured the $5,750 outstanding young bull, Reagent
Park Esp, by Reagent Park Esquire, offered by Barbara Sutton and Garry
Clark’s Reagent Park Simmentals, Warragul. They
also purchased 2 other bulls and 2 females, including a $2,100 cow and
calf pair, Coolaroy Yodeller offered by Terry and Sue Coolahan,
Terang, Vic. Chris
Wenn, Pinnaroo Hills Simmentals, Warragul, selected the top priced
$5,750 cow and calf pair Maverick Red Opel X47, offered by Peter and
Agnes Schembri, Inverleigh, Vic. Elaine
and Bill Sleep, Billanbri, Woolsthorpe, Vic, selected a line of 8
females for an average $2,444, including the $3,800 joined heifer,
Trijena Zamia offered by Frank and Francie Rizzo, Mickleham, Vic. Angelo
Tartaggia, Cittadela Simmentals, Wollert, Vic purchased 2 cow and calf
pairs, including the $2,200 Windan Hill Pernod, offered by Malcolm
Hackett and Diana Robertson, Strathewen. Greg
and Jeanette Huggins, Dandavjon Simmentals, Mount Egerton, Vic
purchased the cow and calf pair, Maverick Madison 316 for $4,750 from
