Simbrah Herd achieving high Tenderness Marker results

Ashley Adams has introduced Genestar Tenderness testing in his family's extensive Simbrah herd. They operate the Darracourt, Sydenham and Rellim properties in the Blackall district running 1500 to 4000 cows, depending on season, with Simmental, Simbrah and Santa Gertrudis bulls.

Using modern day DNA and Gene Marker technology, Ashley has now tested over 300 bulls and selected cows, with encouraging results in identifying lines with high tenderness and marbling markers.

"We've had some good early results identifying three star tenderness Simbrah bulls and we've now got a promising 16 week old calf which tested 6 star - four tenderness and two marbling", he said.
