Simmental Australia Elects New President

Mr Bill Almond, Kensileyre Simmentals, Wagga Wagga, NSW, has been elected

President of Simmental Australia.

He replaces Mr Graham Jordan, Goonoo Creek Simmentals, Tamworth, NSW, who successfully completed two terms as President, leading the Association through difficult drought times.

Well known by Simmental breeders throughout Australia and overseas, Bill is committed to driving programs that are now seeing a widespread resurgence in interest in the Simmental breed.

He and his wife Elaine operate the Kensileyre Simmental stud which was established when the breed was first introduced to Australia in 1972.

The stud has enjoyed many successes in the showring and in the salering and is run in conjunction with a large commercial herd and steer fattening operation.

Bill has judged Simmentals and other breeds at numerous Royal Shows.

He is also Chairman of the National Simmental Sale Committee and a Committee member of the Trans Tasman Simmental Committee.

Bill previously held the positions of Senior Vice President of the Association and President of the NSW Branch.
