Caringa Simmental Bulls Sell to $6,500 in the West |

Simmental stud, operated by Lindsay and Tracy Yates, Bindoon, WA,
experienced another strong on property bull sale in January. 30
Simmental bulls sold to $6,500 and a strong average $3,963. Top selling lot was Caringa Snow Lord 11, by Caringa Single Malt which sold for $6,500 to Derek Mondello, Badgingarra. A well muscled, soft bull with low birth weight and outstanding Breedplan EBVs of –0.3 BW, +1.1 EMA and +0.6 RBY. Mr Mondello will use Snow Lord 11 in his 330 Simmental cross cow herd. Repeat buyers over the past 10 years, I & J Minty & Sons, Dandaragan, purchased the second and third top priced bulls, $6,200 (Caringa Polar Bear) and $6,100 (Caringa Apache). They will use their purchases in their 600 Simmental cross cow herd for baby beef production. KE & JM Pech, Gnowangerup, purchased 2 polled bulls, $6,000 (Caringa Zambesi) and $4,500 (Caringa Gibraltar). Ron Wilkinson, Dandaragan, paid $6,000 for the high EBV bull Caringa Nomad, sporting a 128 sq cm EMA. Return buyers, Elliott & Son, Keysbrook, bought the 890 kg Caringa Hercules for $5,600. Repeat buyers, BJ & FH Tomas, Nannup, paid $4,500 for the 848kg Caringa Copper Mine and $2,000 for Caringa Glenlivet. Multiple buyer, D & L Johns, Coorow, paid $5,100 and $3,600 for two bulls. Deeside Muirs, Manjimup purchased three bulls to a to of $3,800.
